'Casa de la Vall' (Andorra la Vella - Andorra)
Location:
It is located in 'Andorra la Vella', capital of Andorra.
Description and History:
This house is the headquarters of the 'Consell General de les
Valls Andorranes'
(Parliament of ' Andorra
Government').
In 1419 an organization was ratified interparochial to be the embryo of
the Earth Council, later called 'Advice General of the Andorran
Valleys'.
The house was built in 1580, as the date on the keystone of the
gateway. He belonged to the family and it was Busquets acquired in
1702, by the General Council.
The social unrest of the late century XVI explains the existence of the
various defensive elements (pocket, tower and matacanes).
In 1962, the house undergoes a profound restoration during which the
outside plaster is removed and added a new loophole, symmetrical to the
original. On the home front, above the door access to the building
remains the current coat of Andorra, located in the 1763. On one side
is the old shield, back to the fourteenth century.
